Rooted in traditional Japanese craftsmanship, our collections reimagine centuries-old stencils, textile patterns, and artwork—thoughtfully adapted for modern living without diluting their essence.

Many designs begin with Edo-period (1603–1868) stencils, originally carved by artisans for dyeing kimonos. These stencils, now designated as Important Intangible Cultural Properties of Japan, are far more than templates; they’re testaments to patience and precision.

While some restoration is needed to adapt these stencils for modern use, we endeavor to preserve their hand-cut imperfections. Subtle irregularities—a slightly uneven line, an asymmetrical motif—are kept intact, embracing the marks of human craftsmanship over digital perfection. Most of our stencil-based products adhere to a two-colour palette, a deliberate choice to honor the stencils’ history while highlighting their intricacy.

Other designs draw from archival Japanese textiles and artworks, reinterpreting motifs that have endured generations. Every pattern is chosen not for trends, but for its narrative and rarity.
